On April 11, 2011, Jews in ALL Hues will convene a one-day conference for Jewish professionals at Steinhardt Hall to provide useful tools for creating a welcoming environment, and/or programs for Jews from interfaith families. Since the first Jews in ALL Hues day-long conference in May of 2009, there has been interest in the program and what emerged that might inform the way the Jewish community approaches outreach and programming ...for those with mixed Jewish backgrounds.


*Lunch will be provided for all who attend for the "Full Day" and "Morning session."*

Cost:

*No one will be turned away due to lack of funds. Subsidies are available.*

The goals of the conference are to:
• Share the philosophy behind the Jews in ALL Hues approach;
• Present the themes that have emerged from Jews in ALL Hues workshops;
• Convene a forum for Jewish leaders to share ideas on how to create an environment that welcomes the participation mixed heritage Jews;
• Create partnerships that will make these programs possible.


Session topic will include, but not limited to:
• The philosophy and history behind Jews in ALL Hues.
• Panels of mixed heritage Jews working in the Jewish community (dynamics in the workplace) and mixed heritage Jews across generations and stages of life. (stories of the challenges of connecting)
• A “Torah Tie-in” from a scholar of Judaism to connect some of the themes to the history of the Jewish people.
• Case studies based on the experiences of Dual Heritage Jews in regards to Jewish communal life (synagogue, JCC, Outreach organizations etc).
• Dual Heritage Jews & Social Media
